| Pre-Wedding Party Cancelled? |
[Mar. 14th, 2006|11:56 am] |
|
So the original plan was for Beth, myself, a bunch of friends and the whole wedding attendence/party to go out and have fun. Well this never really got planned. Beth was invited to some girl's night thing and then Daniel became semi-in-charge of a guy's night thing (replacing the pre-wedding party). This was fine but it really didn't go anywhere. The girl's thing never got off the ground, and the guy's thing didn't get planned until the beginning of this week. Now we're in a position where we have finally tried to make plans in which a) Beth can't go b) my best man (brother) can't go and c) at least two of my favorite drinking buddies won't make it. In summary it seems unlikely that this party will occur, and the weekend after this, we are busy for the entirety of. I'm open to ideas for April 1st, but I can't confirm anything that goes too late/crazy, assuming I'm not entirely busy the day before the wedding, which I may be. |

| The Amazon: Special Bonus Issue (Limited Edition) |
[Oct. 3rd, 2005|01:52 pm] |
Passed the third interview, didn't do as well as I would've liked. Linux questions like where the one-way hases are located I just barely got, and then the proc file system, which I know holds information about proccesses but not really beyond that. He asked me about run levels, and I didn't know the answer to the level he asked. I passed though. Looks like I'm up against two other people for this job. If I don't get it, I have the option of relocating to Virginia.
I will have a series of in person interviews which will test all of my skills. Here's hoping. |

| Amazon update |
[Sep. 28th, 2005|05:30 pm] |
|
Talked to the Data Center Manager in Northern, Virginia. That phone interview went much better than the first, which aparently went okay itself, and I would even say it went well. We got more into *nix OS stuff, he seemed pleased with my knowledge. He asked more about my current job and how much I liked it and why I was leaving and why I was interested in Amazon. I was overall much more prepared for the questions he asked since alot of them were similar to the questions I was asked in the first interview. Overall things are looking good. I'll post another update when I have one. |

Having taken roughly 5 times as long as Beth to finish Harry Potter: The Half-Blood Prince, I must say that it's a great book. Of course not everthing inside is great, but that helps make the book so enjoyable. I zestfully wait for both the next book, due out way way too long from now, and the next movie, due out this autumn. |
